Erika Kloumann is gorgeous at Ganna Walska Lotusland in stills by cinematographer Nik Blaskovich. Director Ted Mills, Nik and I produced Nymphaea, a three part curved screen installation with my choreography for the Santa Barbara International Film Fest a few years ago. Ethan Turpin and Jonathan Smith offered other magical imagery from the garden for a truly immersive video experience at the CAF (now the Museum of Contemporary Arts Santa Barbara). Ted did a very haunting if possibly odd soundtrack for the more than 30 screen installation. Jon marshalled a crew of friends and artists for a week of work constructing giant paper screens. Erika is classical in the best fairy tale sense.

"O trees of life, what are your signs of winter? We're not at one. We 've no instinctive knowledge, like migratory birds. Outstript and late, we force ourselves on winds and find no welcome from ponds where we alight. We comprehend flowering and fading simultaneously. And somewhere lions still roam, all unaware, yet while their splendour lasts, of any weakness." Rilke The Fourth Elegy from The Duino Elegies translated by J. B. Leishman and Stephen Spender
